Project Context
Forest and land rehabilitation in KPH Singingi was implemented through self-managed community groups across multiple villages and subdistricts. This delivery model required communities to manage local implementation while meeting administrative, technical, coordination, and reporting requirements. From 2019 to 2021, Hutanriau accompanied 29 groups across 11 villages and four subdistricts in Kuantan Singingi.

Early Outcomes
The programme demonstrated that community-based rehabilitation requires sustained institutional, administrative, and technical accompaniment, not only planting inputs. Support to group management, coordination, mediation, documentation, and reporting helped the 29 self-managed groups organise implementation across a large and dispersed programme area. The available records document programme delivery and coverage, but long-term survival, restored area, livelihood outcomes, and ecological change require follow-up evidence.

The 8,750-hectare figure represents programme coverage during the 2019–2020 phases, not an area restored directly by Hutanriau. The 5,000-hectare figure associated with the 2021 P2 phase forms part of the same programme sequence and must not be added as a separate organisational impact. Group membership and participation figures are historical and period-specific. The available evidence does not yet verify long-term seedling survival, ecological recovery, permanent income gains, or sustained employment.
